Hiking

Hotel Chalet Tianes is the perfect base for hiking. Numerous paths lead directly from the hotel to Castelrotto and the surrounding mountain villages. Thanks to our central location in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, you're only a few minutes away from the Alpe di Siusi and the Val Gardena. Soak up the warmth of the local hospitality and enjoy a refreshing drink. The entire region around Castelrotto and the Sciliar offers numerous opportunities for young and old to experience nature first-hand.
For those who prefer to take part in a guided hike, twice a week the hotel manager, Mr Piccolruaz, will introduce you to the impressive natural beauty of the region in a more personal and enjoyable way. Our team will be happy to provide you with tips and important information.

Mountain biking

On an exciting MTB or e-bike tour you will get to know the Sciliar area from a completely new perspective and experience the region from its most beautiful and exciting side. The Dolomites are not only a paradise for hikers, but also for mountain bikers and cyclists. The Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm biking region offers a wide range of routes for all abilities, from easy, family-friendly routes to technically challenging routes for experienced cyclists. Breathtaking views of the striking peaks of the Sciliar, Sassolungo and Sassopiatto and the impressive Catinaccio group await you. The varied landscape, the wide alpine pastures and the challenging climbs offer an unforgettable outdoor adventure. On the 'Bike Routes South Tyrol' platform, you will find a wide range of routes that you can download and adapt to your personal needs. In this way, you can personalise your experience in the Sciliar area and enjoy it to the full on two wheels.

Pond of Fiè

The pond of Fiè is a natural swimming lake above Fiè allo Sciliar, in the heart of the Sciliar area. Easily accessible and yet far from the hustle and bustle, it is a true paradise for those seeking relaxation. Set against an imposing mountain backdrop, the lake is ideal for swimming on hot summer days. The dense forest and unspoilt surroundings make it an ideal destination for families, nature lovers and swimming enthusiasts. For the little ones there is a paddling pool with lake water where they can splash around to their heart's content.
As well as a refreshing dip, you can relax on the sunbathing lawns, enjoy typical South Tyrolean dishes at the various snack bars, or explore the surrounding countryside on the many hiking trails to popular destinations such as the Hofer Alpl and the Tuffalm. Another highlight is the lake above the pond of Fiè, which is ideal for fishing. After an eventful day in the Dolomites, this is the ideal place to relax.

Golf

Castelrotto is a paradise for golf lovers. The famous 18-hole St. Vigil - Seis course is just 5 kilometres from the hotel, set in the picturesque countryside at the foot of the Sciliar mountain. The par 69 course is spread over 60 hectares and offers a varied mix of ten par 4, four par 3 and four par 5 holes. The spacious driving range with 32 tees on two levels and a total length of 260 metres offers ideal conditions for improving technique and precision. The well-stocked golf shop has everything you need for a successful round and the friendly restaurant is the perfect place to round off the day with regional specialities.
