Castelrotto and surroundings - Holiday region Sciliar area in the Dolomites

The Sciliar area has much to offer for sports freaks, epicures and for those interested in culture

The village
Castelrotto is a small, picturesque village with 2000 inhabitants in the Sciliar area in South Tyrol. The main characteristics of the village center are the church with the separate standing bell tower and numerous houses built in a typical South Tyrolean style. Castelrotto provides a pedestrian zone with many shops. Here you can buy local products and gifts as souvenirs for your dear ones.

Variety & Tradition
A holiday close to the Alpe di Siusi is always synonymous with a wide variety of sporting activities, whether you choose to go for a run in the Running-Park or play a round of golf. The Chalet Hotel Tianes is situated in an excellent location for hikes. Directly from and around the hotel there are many hiking and walking trails to Castelrotto and in the surroundings. In summer and winter, many sports can be discovered, even not "ordinary" ones. You can, for example, copy our feathered friends and admire the beauty of the Sciliar area from above, suspended from a paraglider. If you wish to have a more leisurely holiday close to the Alpe di Siusi, you can take a walk through the town, between the colorfully painted houses and the bell tower of Castelrotto. And, if you look closely, you can see the remains of the old castle for which our village is named.
