Castelrotto is a cosy little town of about 2000 residents and at about 1.000 m of altitude. The centre of town is known especially for its peculiar church with the main chapel and the bell tower apart. Also the beautifully decorated and painted houses make Castelrotto worth a trip. Castelrotto is also known in the German speaking parts of Europe as the hometown of South Tyrol’s folk music band Nr.1: “Kastelruther Spatzen”.
